Biography

Austin Parker is an attorney with an entrepreneurial background. Alongside his law practice, he has served as President/CEO of Parker Communities, a Midwest developer of affordable, mixed-income, and market-rate multifamily housing; Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Business Development of Linkpoint Medical; President and CEO of Spectra Healthcare, a multinational BPO organization with more than 2,600 employees; and Vice President of Development and General Counsel of Genesis Companies. Having sat on the business side of the table, he focuses on getting transactions to yes in a legally compliant fashion.

Austin has practiced law since 2008 and is a partner at Parker & Parker, LLC, where he advises privately held corporations, companies, and entrepreneurs on corporate financing, mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions and development, business formation, asset divestiture, and tax, trust, and asset structuring.

His finance work includes serving as lending and finance counsel for projects valued at $20 million and more, preparing and administering Regulation D private securities offerings for programs exceeding $100 million, and structuring investment vehicles for real estate assets exceeding $100 million. He has directed the legal affairs of programmatic real estate development enterprises with projects ranging from $20 million to more than $100 million.

Austin also represents governmental and non-profit clients as city attorney, county counselor, and outside counsel, and has represented more than 20 governments and non-profit or federally funded grant entities. His public-sector work covers planning and zoning, large project structuring, contracting, employment law, and complex municipal liability issues, including 42 U.S.C. § 1983. He currently serves as Interim County Administrator/County Counselor for Nemaha County, Kansas; County Counselor for Brown County, Kansas; City Attorney for Cheney and Pratt, Kansas; and City Attorney/City Prosecutor Pro Tempore for Paola, Kansas.

As trial counsel, he represents clients through all stages of litigation in state and federal courts, including business litigation, contract disputes, products liability, employment-related claims, personal injury, property damage, and construction law.
